April is the cruelest month (ta, Eliot), perhaps that’s why we start it off with a Fool’s Day. Rather than posting a poem for a laugh, we’ve chosen a piece that, though a bit light-hearted, is a serious treatment of a poet’s way with words. It’s delightful and true and expertly rendered.
